Matthias heads up the BDI’s Department of International Cooperation, Security Policy, Raw Materials and Space – but the work he does extends far beyond the long title. Matthias speaks about one key effort, the German NewSpace Initiative, which he helped found and continues to manage. Having played a key role in its development, Matthias reveals its core mission and what more needs to be done to support the industry.
