Dipl.-Ing. Volker Schmid
DLR Teamleader ISS, EUB-Delegate, Mission Manager
Volker Schmid is an aerospace and space systems engineer. He works from 1996 until 2001 for DLR systems analysis division in the field of future launchers. Since 2001 Volker Schmid was the DLR programme manager for ATV, the European supply vessel for the International Space Station. From 2011 on he leads the ISS team in the DLR Space Administration and is one of the German delegates at the ESA programme board for exploration and utilization (PB-EUB). He was the DLR mission manager for the Blue Dot mission of Astronaut Alexander Gerst and has this responsibility for the coming HORIZONS mission.
